Time To Check The Toolbox

Depending on what you are using a website for will help you decide what tools to pick. Am I a travel buff and I just want talk about where I have been, where I am going and share a few pictures along the way? Cool, you need a simple blog site with photo gallery account like Flikr or Picasa. If you own a Mac you are set! These things are already on your pre-installed software.

Maybe you have decided this is the time to start your own small business and know the internet is the place to grow it. Suppose you make mocassins need a shopping cart and a way to let people know about your products? A Paypal account, a small website with your comany's name as the URL (web address) and some Social Networking on Twitter and Facebook will get you off to the right start.

Maybe you are a comedian or up coming actor who just needs to let the world know your name and see you up close? Video! Photos! Voice! Action! and a little Social Networking! 4 easy pages and with all the right keywords and metatags will be all you need to get your name surfing around on the net.

Maybe your a Piano Teacher looking to take on a few more new students, but think a website might be more than you need? Think again. Google and Yahoo Search Engines are used more often as a way to search for a local businesses rather than the phone book. True, I myself looked the other day for house cleaning service just by typing in the keyword search; House cleaning Temecula. Found what I wanted and they had a website. Wasn't more than just telling me that they clean houses in my area and a phone number, but, they got my business.

Some great tools to keep have at hand when creating your own website: first buy a domain name! If you can try to get one that matches the name of your company, service or personality with a .com as best you can. Try to avoid acronyms shortened spelling, underscores and hyphens. If you need help picking out a domain name for yourself and just need help with what will work for best marketing yourself on the web and out in the paper world, call me I will consult with you for Free. I can even recommend hosting services that will best fit your budget and accomodate your expected traffic needs. Another tool; if creating your own website, a good web-building software. Yahoo and GoDaddy both have some easy to use basic do-it yourself web-building software. If you think you need something a little more customized and don't have time to set it up. I can help you.

Websites don't have to be costly and sometimes can even be traded for services/goods if you use KKsWebs ;-)
